M-Marlin Fish

Marlins are large, predatory fish that are found worldwide. There are four species of marlin: blue (Makaira nigricans), black (Istiompax indica), striped (Kajikia audax), and white (K. albida, or K. albidus). The blue marlin is the largest and most common species, and can grow up to 5 meters long and weigh up to 900 kilograms. Marlins are known for their speed and agility, and they are prized game fish. They are also consumed as food.

Unfortunately, marlin populations are declining due to overfishing. The blue marlin is considered to be a vulnerable species by the the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species.
