G-Giraffe
The reticulated giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis reticulata) is a subspecies of giraffe that is native to East Africa. Giraffes are the tallest living terrestrial animal and the largest ruminant on earth. Reticulated giraffes are characterized by their long legs and a coat pattern of irregular brown patches on a light background. They are found in grasslands and open woodlands and prefer to eat new shoots and leaves from the acacia tree.
Giraffes are an important part of the ecosystem and help to control populations of acacia trees. Reticulated giraffes are considered as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The main threats to the giraffe species are habitat loss, poaching, and conflict with humans.
