O-Octopus
Large, intelligent invertebrates with 8 arms/appendages that live mostly on the sea floor. There are over 300 species of octopuses worldwide, and they are found in all oceans except the Arctic.
Octopuses are highly intelligent animals, and they are able to solve complex problems and use tools. They are also excellent at camouflaging, and they can change their skin color and texture to blend in with their surroundings. Octopuses can also release a cloud of black ink, which obscures them and dulls an encroacher’s sense of smell.
Octopuses are a popular seafood, and they are rich in vitamins and minerals. They are listed as least concern species by the the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species. In Africa the (Enteroctopus magnificus), also known as the southern giant octopus, is a large octopus native to the waters of Namibia and South Africa.
