T-Tiger
Panthera tigris is the largest living cat species. It has a distinctive orange coat with dark vertical stripes and a white underside. There are two recognized subspecies of tiger: the continental (Panthera tigris tigris) and the Sunda (Panthera tigris sondaica). Males are larger than females. Tigers are solitary animals that hunt at night. They prey on a variety of animals, but prefer fairly large prey such as deer.
They are found in a variety of habitats, including forests, grasslands, and mangrove swamps. Tigers are strong swimmers and often bathe in ponds, lakes, and rivers. They are found in India, China, and Russia. The tiger is an endangered species. There are only an estimated 3,900 tigers left in the wild. The main threats to tigers are habitat loss, poaching, and conflict with humans.
