Kids Coloring Book -Sekenani Primary School

The beneficiary of the second round donation of the “Let’s Go Wild” kids coloring book was Sekenani Primary School. The pupils together with their respective teachers, received the books with much appreciation and praise for the idea of using the Coloring Book as a way of promoting conservation education and environmental care.

This issuance was accorded so much support from Sarova Mara Camp where Mr. Kioko Musioki (Camp manager), Mr. Marcos (H.R. Manager) and Mr. Daniel Ole Soit (Safari guide and cheetah spotter for our research) were in attendance and gave a motivational speech to the pupils emphasizing the importance of caring for the environment and the phenomenal wildlife, a heritage for our country, Kenya.

The event began with the motivational speeches from the Mara-Meru Cheetah Project team and the Sarova Mara camp team. This was followed by issuance of 200 Coloring books to the school’s Environmental Club members who received them on behalf of the school. It was fulfilling to see pupils breaking into individual clusters fully submerged into the book! After which, a marvelous parade marching show was conducted by the schools’ scouting club lead by Amely, and tree planting event where two trees were planted by the two teams present.

After this, Daniel Ole Soit told the history of the school being one of its the first pupils. In his speech, he mentioned a tree he planted during the school’s first days which had grown into a humongous, shady umbrella shaped acacia tree. It was with much delight and recognition of his contribution to green Mother Nature that we all took pictures standing underneath the magnificent tree.
